Technology and services company Itron announced today it plans to expand its software Center of Excellence by doubling its workforce over the next two years.
The Bengaluru Center of Excellence aims to be one of the world's leading development centres for innovative software and firmware solutions that enable utilities and cities to manage energy and water more resourcefully.
The Center of Excellence in Bengaluru was established in 2013 and currently employs 240 people. The centre will focus on software application development to support smart cities and smart grid deployments globally.

With thousands of employees supporting nearly 8,000 customers in more than 100 countries, Itron applies knowledge and technology to better manage energy and water resources.
